2023 Topps Museum Collection Baseball Checklist Overview

Like the rest of the checklist, the base set takes a premium approach. This is conveyed through an elegant design and thick stock. It’s not a big set, though, consisting of just 100 cards. Current stars, rookies and legends from the past all appear.

The one-per-pack parallels break down to include:

  • Copper
  • Gold – /299
  • Sapphire – /150
  • Amethyst – /99
  • Ruby – /50
  • Emerald – 1/1

Canvas Collection are the only inserts in the product that don’t have signatures or swatches. These offer artistic interpretations of baseball superstars from a variety of artists. These land one per box. New this year are Artist Proof parallels that are numbered to 50.

Canvas Collection Originals and Canvas Collection Originals Shaped Sketch Cards are also available. These are all one-of-ones with artwork done on the card itself.

Autographs

Like past Museum Collection Baseball releases, there is some variety of the types of hits in every hobby box. This year it includes one autograph, an autographed relic, a memorabilia card and a quad relic.

Archival Autographs are the most common signatures with base versions have 299 or fewer copies. Parallels include Copper (/50), Gold (/25), Sapphire (/20), Amethyst (/15), Ruby (/5) and Emerald (1/1).

Significantly more scarce are Superstar Showpieces, which have 25 copies and no parallels. Boasting on-card ink, action images are the angle on these from a design perspective.

Atelier Autographed book cards open up to have a panoramic shot of the player’s home field as the backdrop. These top out at 25 copies.

Museum Framed Autographs, one of the brand’s early cornerstones, return as a case hit. Versions include Silver Frame (/15), Gold Frame (/10), Black Frame (/5) and Wood Frame (1/1). There’s also a separate collection of Framed Hall of Fame Autographs (/10 or less) that consists entirely of players enshrined into Cooperstown.

Keeping with the frame theme are Museum Framed Autograph Patch cards and Dual Autograph Patch book cards. All of these are one-of-ones.

Dual Autographs (/15 or less) and Triple Autographs (/5) get the on-card treatment.

Autographed Memorabilia Cards

Making their debut in 2023 Topps Museum Collection Baseball are MLB Authenticated Relic Autographs (/15). The swatches on these come with a MLB Authentication hologram that enable collectors to look up exactly when it was used. It’s a similar for MLB Authenticated Base Autograph Relics (/10) only with bases and not uniform swatches. Ruby (/5) and Emerald (1/1) parallels are also available for both.

Autographed Jumbo Lumber Bat Relics (/5) and Dual Autographed Jumbo Lumber Bat Relics Books (/5) both go big with bats. The pieces on these come from the player’s barrel.

Another place to find big pieces of memorabilia in Momentous Material Jumbo Patch Autographs (/15 or less). These have a parallel lineup that’s slightly bigger than past years with Gold (/10), new Ruby (/5) and Emerald (1/1). Momentous Material Dual Jumbo Patch Autographs (/5) spotlight two players.

Single-Player Signature Swatches Dual Relics and Single-Player Signature Swatches Triple Relics are easily the most abundant auto relics on the 2023 Topps Museum Collection Baseball checklist. Base versions for both have as many as 399 copies. Dual versions have Copper (/50), Gold (/25), Sapphire (/20), Amethyst (/15), Ruby (/10) and Emerald (1/1) parallels. Triples have Copper, Gold (/25) and Emerald (1/1).

Memorabilia Cards

For memorabilia cards without autographs, none in 2023 Topps Museum Collection Baseball have more than 99 copies. That’s the ceiling for both the Single-Player and Quad-Player Primary Pieces Quad Relics. Both have additional Copper (/75), Gold (/25), Ruby (/10) and Emerald (1/1) versions. Single-Player cards also have Sapphire (/20) and Amethyst (/15) parallels.

Single-Player Primary Pieces Quad Relic Legends (/25) all center on players from the past. Ruby (/10) and Emerald (1/1) are the lone parallels for these.

Meaningful Materials Relics (/50 or less) are another one of the more common memorabilia cards in the product. Copper (/35), Gold (/25), Sapphire (/20), Amethyst (/15), Ruby (/10) and Emerald (1/1) add more versions to chase. There are also Dual versions with double the memorabilia. These have similar print runs.

The 2023 Topps Museum Collection Baseball checklist has a handful of scarce memorabilia themes as well.

MLB Authenticated Base Relics (/10) are like their autograph counterparts — minus the player ink. Ruby (/5) and Emerald (1/1) parallels also exist.

Momentous Material Jumbo Patch Relics are another place with oversized swatches. Emerald parallels are one-of-ones.

Other one-of-a-kind cards include Jumbo Lumber Bat Nameplates. There’s also Museum Memorabilia that have both Laundry Tag and MLB Silhouetted Batter Logo versions.
